Updates all Labeled S4

  • Player Characters
    • Togashi Fumei
      • (S1) I was neutral to this person at first, he seemed to exemplify the odd tattooed man, but he insulted the scorpion family very publicly during the first day of the championship, should I even try to befriend a person who publicly announces his disdain?
      • (S2) Perhaps I was wrong about his bias against the Scorpion, when I approached him at the competition between Bayushi Tsukage and Kaibara’s Sister he seemed friendly enough.
      • (S3) He aided Kimiko in the hunt, Iruko thinks she is her lost childhood friend, and it would seem he has been assigned as our “spiritual adviser”; I never though that a monk would warrant such attentions.
      • (S4) I have slowly begun to warm up to this person, something about his aloof nature reminds me of a cat I had growing up, the difference of course is that the Togashi talks back.
    • Kakita Suteki
      • (S1) He has an odd attachment to sweets, but other than that he seems like a fairly typical crane, overconfident and sure that everyone wants to be him. He was interesting to travel with, even if he did annoy my Bayushi companion.
      • (S3) His father committed seppukku not long after the Championship, I can relate, losing a parent is no easy thing.
      • (S4) I beginning to think that Suteki has an addiction to candy since he is never far away from a bag of it, I wonder if he realizes how crippling having such compulsions can be.
    • Matsu Sho
      • (S4) He is a brash fool of a lion if I ever saw one, I was uncertain as to the truth behind the rumors of the Lion clans shameful displays, but now I find myself traveling with a confirmation…
  • NPCs
    • Bayushi Tsukage
      • (S1) Ever since I have reconnected with my old friend I have noticed he is far more irritable than he used to be, I hope he can set aside his outward hostility after a time.
      • (S2) It would seem that he is still as protective as I remember him being from childhood, though I don’t understand how some would think we are a couple. He seemed quite pleased with the results of the competition, it was a fun evening.
      • (S3) I believe he doubted my skills, he should learn that there is a time for patience, just as there is a time for haste. I am certain we will meet again, since we walk similar paths.
    • Suzume Kimiko
      • (S1) This poor girl has fallen for the Emerald Champion’s son, the sweets loving Kakita Suteki, on top of this, she has had a terrible first day of the competition. I can’t help but be reminded of how I was treated when I was younger, an outsider among old friends. I have tried to make things a bit easier on her, but I don’t think I can help her much.
      • (S2) Something has happened, I am not sure what, but it has taken a bit of light from her eyes.
      • (S3) It was a shame that I was not able to group with her for the hunt, but she came away from the encounter in brighter spirits, perhaps the monk aided her somehow?
    • Mirumoto Kenzan
      • (S1) There is something interesting about this man, the void around his is disrupted, I managed to get a view of his flaws and the disturbance wasn’t caused by those. I wonder why he wanted to stay in the temple? I know he searches for meaning in many things, but I’m certain there is more to it.
      • (S2) I had an interesting discussion with him when I went looking for Kimiko, I enjoy talking with him, there are not many I can discuss theology with. There seems to be something about his fate he wished to fight against. I wonder if I will bump into him during his pilgrimage, I hope so.
      • (S3) I was hoping that he would win the Iiajutsu Tournament, and he almost did, but one of the Crane plants beat him in the end. He told me to be more confident in my abilities, and I think I will take this to heart.
    • Sotan, the Traveling Peasant
      • (S1) This man was very interesting and many odd things happened around him, his kimono and scarf dried long before they should have and his tea pot created a reaction that was also unexpected. He gave three of us a gift that we were to choose, me a scroll (I gifted him my umbrella), the Togashi a box with 20 koku in it (which he gifted back to the old man), and the Miramoto a fan. He also let us stay in the house for the duration of the competition, a very interesting man.
      • (S3) He will come home to a pleasant note and a clean home, it is the least I could do for him allowing us to stay here.
    • Shinjo Iruko
      • (S1) I met her first by the bulletin board and she was having difficulty reading it, then again in the baths, and again in the garden where I was to judge the sparring match between the Mirumoto and the Kakita. She held an interest in the Togashi, but other than that I find her to be quite tight lipped.
      • (S2) I think the fates have decided her and I are to know each other, that, or she finds me far more interesting than I find myself. She opened up to me a bit and it seems like there in a childhood friend of hers that she is strongly tied to named Toichi that has gone missing. I told her that I would keep an eye out for him should I get a posting that allows me to travel. She asked me if Tsukage and i were a couple, and I think she was asking on behalf of her brother who showed a mild interest in me.
      • (S3) She got stationed at her Uncle’s Keep, which was no suprise, I told her I would write and keep an eye out for her friend, but I think she has taken a shine to the Togashi and would like to live with the possibility that he is her lost friend a little longer. I told her some things with the intention that they should fall upon her brother’s ears, and I think she will relay the message. I will continue to keep in touch with her and I hope to find her friend.
    • Akodo Sosenkawa
      • (S1) The young champion seems to be friendlier than I expected, and wanted to speak with Tsukage, I can only assume this is because of his relation to our Clan champion, he harbors a great longing for Suteki’s sister, and I think this would be a good match for him should it come to be, perhaps I shuld try to befriend her.
    • Matsu Yuma
      • (S1) She was very bold to express her discomfort after the sumai match that she was exposed during, I wonder if she often has these kinds of outbursts?
    • Daidoji(Hiramichi) Yoichi
      • (S1) This lowly man almost let his sister suffer for an act that he committed, and though he eventually owned up to it, how could someone let their sibling fall in their place?
    • Daidoji(Hiramichi) Mina
      • (S1) I know little of this woman, but i know she was willing to die for her brother, and that alone speaks of her worth and weakness.
    • Shiba Murai
      • (S1) I have yet to speak to him, but I have learned that he was only invited die to his mother’s Imperial blood, it will be interesting to watch someone who has something to prove.
    • Doji Kaibara
      • (S1) If he were not a lecher, he would be a fine example of a samurai, but even with that and his affinity for costumes I find him to be a kind man. It must be a burden being a crane that cannot fly.
    • Doji Sahashi
      • (S1) He is a brash man who feels that everything that he does is for the good of the clan, he is a terrifying individual, and I have earned his scorn by speaking on behalf of the ones that died his horse pink, if only I had taken the time to remove the coloring.
    • Doji Moeko
      • (S1) She has a steady gaze and I would fear being on her bad side more than her brash brother.
    • Koguchi
      • (S1) I stumbled upon this man at the docks when I was searching for peace, my very presence seemed to disturb him so I left him be. I am surprised that one that dislike being around people came to such a crowded event.
      • (S3) It took great courage for him to ask me to group with him, and he seemed very determined, I think this is why I went in the pond after him when the log proved to be a crocodile. He was almost out matched, but we luckily got away and still had time to get eggs so he could pass the gempukku.
    • Iuchi Atsumori
      • (S2) The second most interesting person I’ve met at topaz, and Shijo Iruko’s brother. I am not certain about him yet, he seemed to realize things about me that none of the other attendees or competitors had. I find myself wondering about this gaijin magic he uses, and about his mysterious job.
      • (S3) He grows more interesting as I continue to talk with him, this foreign magic seems interesting, and if it helps to protect him I have no issues with how it is accomplished. I wonder what things he does to make him not wish for his sister to be his yojimbo. He told Iruko that the roads he walks are too dangerous for her and that he did not wish that life to be hers, what is it he does that is so dangerous?
    • Otomo Gonshiro
      • (S3) He seemed quite pleased to hear that I wanted to become an Emerald Magistrate and that I wished to make my father proud. He seems like the type of man that fears a dark spot on his reputation.
    • Asako Ryoko
      • (S3) She is the woman who we are escorting back to her home, she seems on edge and extremely reserved, but I think I would be too if I were being stalked someone.
    • Asako Kato
      • (S3) Ryoko’s Uncle, an Air shugenja, and a concerned family member, it was through him that i learned the Tonbo attempted to marry Ryoko. He seems like a sharp man, if a little over protective of his niece, I wonder what happened to her to make him so.
    • Tonbo Ukiya
      • (S3) This man give me a very uneasy feeling, it doesn’t help that he was incredibly far out of his way to be on the pilgrimage he claimed to be on. I fear he may be attempting to harm/kidnap Ryoko, I will keep on guard.
    • Togashi Fuguki
      • (S4) This man managed to see into my very being in just a short time, this was with the aid of a tattoo he bore on his chest, a blowfish, and it unfortunately poisoned his mind…if I did not feel such an odd kinship with him he would be viewed as a very dangerous threat, but I too know how isolating the possession of powers not many have can be.
